ATLANTA, GA— Democrat State Representative Vernon Jones delivered a shocking message today via Twitter. You see, Jones is a lifelong Democrat who is fed up with his party. He’s taking action by doing the unthinkable and is endorsing and voting for President Trump.
After he was elected, President Trump’s policies helped lower unemployment numbers for the black community. Rep. Jones knows that the President has delivered and made that clear in his video that was attached to this tweet. Jones said,
“Hello American, this is Vernon Jones and I’m proud memeber of the Georgia House of Representatives. But I’ve also been a lifelong Democrat too. But today, I’ve announced my support and endorsemente of Donald J. Trump’s campaign re-election.
“Now, let me be clear about one thing, I didn’t leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me.
“But one would say now, why would a black man support Donald Trump? Well, I would reverse that. Why wouldn’t a black man endorse Donald Trump? Isn’t he the President that ushered in the lowest unemployment rate among blacks before the pandemic crisis? Isn’t he the President that signed the criminal justice reform act?
“And finally, Isn’t he the president overwhelmingly supported financially historical black colleges, in which I’m a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University.”
Rep. Jones’ tweet read,
“I’m a Georgia State Representative and lifelong Democrat. But in this election, I’ll be casting my vote for @realdonaldtrump. I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The Party left me. #MAGA #KAG #WalkAway”
Several people responded to Rep. Jones’ tweet, like Scott Presler,
“Thank you, Representative. We welcome you with open arms & open hearts.”
NC Florida tweeted,
“I’m a fellow Democrat who completely agrees”
“Thank you for doing what your doing! You’re State is so blessed to have you as their leader. #UnitedWeStand”
Rasul Akule tweeted,
“This man is brave. If only more African Americans would take a little time to listen & observe, the Democrats have invested more in racial angst than sound policy. They have invested crumbs while their Reps. have amassed wealth both at home and overseas.”
