GEORGIA —Presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg didn’t waste his opportunity to pander when he spoke at the Democratic National Committee’s African American Leadership Summit. I think he believes the conspiracy theory that candidate Stacey Abrams lost her bid to become Georgia’s Governor was because of voter suppression. According to AJC.com, he said,
“When racially motivated voter suppression is permitted, when districts are drawn so that politicians get to choose their voters instead of the other way around, when money is allowed to outvote people in this country, we cannot truly say that we live in a democracy.”
Never mind that Abrams lost by over 50,000 votes. It’s always someone’s fault when a Democrat loses a race for office. Republcans are racists and cheat to win. Wrong, the people chose Brian Kemp and Democrats still can’t get over it. Buttigieg is not the only one who is vying for the African American vote. Presidential candidate Seth Moulton ramped up his rhetoric when speaking at a CNN town hall, according to RealClear Politics he said,
“We have a problem with racism in America today. If this country wasn’t racist, Stacey Abrams would be governor because people of color are being systemically denied the most basic right in a democracy, which is the right to vote. That’s why we need a new voting rights act in America.”
He also called President Trump a racist when he said,
“Let’s not ignore the fact that when the man in the Oval Office is a racist – and yes, I did just say that. I don’t think that’s inappropriate – it’s going to affect everyone in this country.”
The only thing Democrats have left is name calling. They can’t win on their merits. They are proving every day that they are really the party of hate and discontent.
