Senator Bernie Sanders recently suspended his campaign for President and made a big announcement today via live steam. He has officially endorsed Joe Biden for President. He was unable to secure enough delegates to become the Democrat’s nominee.
In a recent interview with PBS’s Judy Woodruff, Sanders said,
“on the very first day that I began my campaign, I said that, if I lose, I will be there to support the Democratic winner, the nominee, the person who wins the nomination, because I think that Donald Trump is the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country.”
This is the second time Sanders has been unable to win the Democrat Party’s primary and has gone on to endorse the eventual candidate. Back in July of 2016, he endorsed Hillary Clinton.
Sanders said, according to Fox News,
“We are in a terrible moment, an unprecedented moment and I know we share the understand that we have to go forward, right now and out of this, in an unprecedented way to address the terrible pain that so many of our fellow Americans are feeling,” Sanders said.
“So today I am asking all Americans, I’m asking every Democrat and I’m asking every independent, I’m asking a lot of Republicans, to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse, to make certain that we defeat somebody who I believe, and I’m speaking just for myself now, is the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country,” he emphasized.
Prior to making the announcement, Senator Sanders posted the following to his Twitter account,
“We must come together to defeat the most dangerous president in modern history. I’m joining @JoeBiden’s livestream with a special announcement.”
Several people responded with some saying they were not voting for Biden, like Lefty-Desiree McLeftyFace Slaps back w/Milkshakes who tweeted,
